Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi was on a two-day visit to Gujarat from 26th to 27th May 2025 to inaugurate and lay the foundation for various development projects across key sectors including Railways, Power, Urban Development, and Housing. Key Highlights:

  • - PM Modi inaugurated and dedicated the new Locomotive Manufacturing Plant (LMP), established by Indian Railways (IR), and flagged off the first 9,000-Horsepower (HP) Electric Locomotives for both domestic use and export from the LMP facility in Dahod.
  • - He virtually flagged off the Sabarmati (Ahmedabad)–Veraval Vande Bharat Express. The train will cover a distance of 438 miles in approximately 7 hours.
