India Takes Part in 24th IORA Meeting Virtually Hosted by Sri Lankan Government.

On May 21, 2025, India took part in the 24th meeting of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) Council of Ministers (COM), which was virtually hosted by the current IORA Chair, Sri Lanka. The event was held under the theme "Sustainable Indian Ocean for Future Generation."

  • - The Indian delegation was led by Periasamy Kumaran, Secretary (East), Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
  • - India, currently serving as the Vice-Chair of IORA and a member of the Troika, is set to assume the IORA Chairship for 2025–2027, taking over from Sri Lanka.
