In May 2025, the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPWD), under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MSJE), organised the 'Inclusive India Summit' at the India International Centre (IIC) in New Delhi to mark Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) on May 15, 2025.

🎯 Key Highlights:

  • - The summit was held in a hybrid format, jointly hosted by DEPwD along with the State Bank of India (SBI) Foundation from Mumbai and the National Association for the Blind (NAB) based in Delhi.
  • - It was also supported by the Association of People with Disability (APD) from Bengaluru and Mission Accessibility (Dhananjay Sanjogta Foundation) in Delhi.
  • - Rajesh Aggarwal, Secretary of DEPwD, attended the event as the Chief Guest.
