💡 Other Important Facts:

  • (i) Ayushman Bharat was launched as per the recommendations of the National Health Policy 2017 to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
  • (ii) It was officially launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 23rd September 2018 in Ranchi, Jharkhand.
  • (iii) The scheme has two components: Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs) and Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY).
