In January 2025, Times Higher Education (THE) released the "World University Rankings by Subject 2025." The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru, Karnataka, made a mark by becoming the only Indian institution in the top 100 for Computer Science (CS), securing the 99th position for the first time.
