  • - IndiaAI, an independent division under the Digital India Corporation, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Microsoft to promote the use and development of AI in India.

  • (i) The MoU aims to skill 500,000 people, including students, teachers, developers, and women entrepreneurs, by 2026.
  • (ii) They plan to establish "AI Catalysts," a Center of Excellence, to encourage AI innovation in smaller cities (Tier 2 and Tier 3). They will help 100,000 AI innovators and developers through hackathons, community-building efforts, and an AI marketplace.
  • (iii) The agreement also includes setting up AI Productivity Labs in 20 National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs) and NIELIT centers across 10 states. These labs will train 20,000 educators and help 100,000 students with basic AI courses in 200 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs).
