On January 7, 2025, the Government of India (GoI) appointed V Narayanan as the 11th Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Secretary of the Department of Space (DoS). His term will begin on January 14, 2025, and will last for 2 years, replacing the current chairman, Sreedhara Panicker Somanath.
