The Department of Consumer Affairs (DoCA) has launched the e-Daakhil portal nationwide to simplify the consumer grievance redressal process.

In November 2024, the Department of Consumer Affairs (DoCA), under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution (MoCAF&PD), announced the successful launch of the "e-Daakhil portal" across all States and Union Territories (UTs) in India.

🎯 Key Highlights:

  • - This achievement followed the launch of the e-Daakhil portal in Ladakh on 22nd November 2024 by the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.), making the portal a nationwide initiative.
  • - As of 31st December 2023, the e-Daakhil portal had already been launched in 35 states/UTs, excluding Ladakh.)

💡 Other Important Facts:

  • (i) The e-Daakhil portal was first introduced on 7th September 2020 by the National Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission (NCDRC) as an innovative platform to simplify and streamline the consumer grievance redressal process.
  • (ii) The e-Daakhil portal enables consumers and advocates to file complaints from anywhere through an intuitive interface, providing a paperless and transparent process to approach relevant consumer forums, track complaint status, and make payments without needing physical appearances.
  • (iii) Over 2.81 lakh users are registered on e-Daakhil. Out of 1,98,725 cases filed, 38,453 cases have been disposed of.
