In November 2024, Arjun Vajpai, the youngest person to climb Mount Everest, achieved a historic milestone by summiting Mount Shishapangma in China, his eighth peak above 8,000 meters (m).

  • (ii) He was only 30 years old when he set the Guinness World Record for being the youngest person to climb Mt. Everest (2010) and Mt. Lhotse (2011) and also holds the record for the fastest ascent of an 8,000m peak in China.
