ACC Extends Swarup Kumar Saha’s Term as MD & CEO of Punjab & Sind Bank Till February 2027.

In May 2025, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved the extension of Swarup Kumar Saha’s tenure as the Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Punjab & Sind Bank (PSB), headquartered in New Delhi.

  • - Originally scheduled to conclude on June 2, 2025, his term has now been extended until his superannuation on February 28, 2027, or until further orders—whichever comes earlier.

💡 Other Important Facts:

  • (i) Swarup Kumar Saha took charge as MD & CEO of PSB in June 2022 for an initial term of three years. Prior to that, he served as Executive Director (ED) at Punjab National Bank (PNB) from 2021 to 2022.
  • (ii) The extension was officially notified by the Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance (MoF), under Section 9(3)(a) of the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1980.
