In May 2025, Microsoft Corporation (USA) partnered with Yotta Data Services Pvt. Ltd. (Mumbai-based) to accelerate AI adoption in India by integrating Microsoft Azure AI services into Yotta’s sovereign Shakti Cloud platform.

  • - The partnership aligns with the IndiaAI Mission, a ₹10,372 crore initiative by MeitY (approved in 2024), aimed at strengthening India's AI ecosystem through enhanced compute power, indigenous applications, and AI innovation.
  • - Microsoft will contribute its Azure AI models, developer tools like Machine Learning Studio, security services, and GitHub integration to empower AI development across sectors.
