India to Host 2026 Asian Weightlifting Championships After a Gap of 44 Years.

On May 28, 2025, Doha (Qatar) based Asian Weightlifting Federation (AWF) announced that Ahmedabad, Gujarat, will host the 2026 Asian Weightlifting Championships from April 1 to 10, 2026. This event marks India's return as host of the prestigious continental tournament after a 44-year gap, the last time being in 1982 in New Delhi during the Asian Games.
