NRI Deposits Inflows Surge to 11-Year High of USD 16.2 Billion in FY25 as per RBI.

On May 23, 2025, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) released its latest monthly bulletin, revealing that Non-Resident Indian (NRI) deposits in Indian banks surged to an 11-year high in the financial year 2024-25 (FY25).

🎯 Key Highlights:

  • - The total inflows reached USD 16.16 billion (Rs. 1,38,911 crore), marking a 9.9% Year-on-Year (YoY) increase in FY25 from USD 14.7 billion (Rs. 1,26,361 crore) in FY24.

💡 Other Important Facts:

  • (i) FCNR(B) inflows rose 11% YoY to USD 7.1 billion (Rs. 61,032 crore) in FY25, up from USD 6.3 billion (Rs. 54,155 crore) in FY24.
  • (ii) NRE (RA) inflows increased to USD 4.7 billion (Rs. 40,401 crore) in FY25, up from USD 4.2 billion (Rs. 36,103 crore) in FY24.
  • (iii) NRO Account inflows rose to USD 4.4 billion (Rs. 37,822 crore) in FY25, up from USD 4.2 billion (Rs. 36,103 crore) in FY24.
