Union Minister Amit Shah Unveils Statue and Renames Road in Honour of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma.

In May 2025, Union Minister Amit Shah, who heads the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and the Ministry of Cooperation (MoC), unveiled a statue and participated in the renaming of a road and rotary in New Delhi (Delhi) to honour Bodofa Upendranath Brahma on his 35th death anniversary. The ceremony was organised by the Government of Assam.

  • - The event was graced by the presence of Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, and other dignitaries.
  • - As a tribute, a 9-feet life-size statue of Bodofa was unveiled, and the Lala Lajpat Rai Road in South Delhi was renamed to Bodofa Upendranath Brahma Marg. The newly renamed road spans 835 metres in length and is 50 feet wide, passing by Kailash Colony Metro Station and alongside the Bodoland Guest House.
  • - The statue of Bodofa (meaning father or guardian of the Bodos) stands as a symbol of self-respect for the tribal society across India.
