Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Secretary of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoC&I), inaugurated the 18th NCB International Conference & Exhibition on Cement, Concrete, and Building Materials, held from 27th to 29th November 2024 at Yashobhoomi, India International Convention & Expo Centre (IIC) Dwarka in New Delhi, Delhi.

  • - The conference was organized by the National Council for Cement and Building Materials (NCB), under the administrative control of DPIIT, MoC&I.
  • - The theme of the conference was "Cement the Net Zero Future," highlighting India's commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2070.

  • (i) Amardeep Singh Bhatia presented the NCB Lifetime Achievement Award to Padma Shri awardee Dr. HC Visvesvaraya in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the cement and concrete sector.
  • (ii) During the conference, NCB signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to promote decarbonization and technological innovation in the cement industry.
  • (iii) Arti Bhatnagar, Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor of DPIIT, MoC&I, presented the National Awards for the Indian Cement Industry on the concluding day of the conference.
