NSO Releases Results of Annual Survey of Unincorporated Sector Enterprises (ASUSE) 2023-24.

In December 2024, the National Statistical Office (NSO), part of the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MOSPI), released the results of the Annual Survey of Unincorporated Sector Enterprises (ASUSE) for 2023-24. The survey covered the period from October 2023 to September 2024.

🎯 Key Highlights:

  • - According to the report, job creation in the unincorporated non-agricultural sector slowed down from October 2023 to September 2024. The number of new jobs created dropped to 10.97 million, compared to 11.74 million in the previous period (October 2022 to September 2023).

💡 Other Important Facts:

  • (i) The number of new businesses in the unincorporated sector grew from 5.34 million in 2022-23 to 8.35 million in 2023-24.
  • (ii) The total number of unincorporated establishments (businesses) increased significantly from 65 million in 2022-23 to 73.4 million in 2023-24, showing a growth of 12.48%.
  • (iii) The number of workers employed in the sector rose from 109.6 million between October 2022 and September 2023 to 120.6 million between October 2023 and September 2024.
