On December 19, 2024, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized the 21st Annual Health Summit in New Delhi, with the theme "Transforming Healthcare for Viksit Bharat 2047."

  • - The summit featured an exhibition showcasing the latest medical innovations and technologies, paving the way for a future-ready healthcare system.
  • - Union Minister of State (MOS) Anupriya Patel, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and Chemicals & Fertilizers, emphasized the importance of the MedTech (Medical Technology) vision at the Health Summit.

💡 Other Important Facts:

  • (i) During the summit, the government launched the National Medical Device Policy and schemes aimed at strengthening infrastructure, promoting research, and developing skills in the MedTech sector.
  • (ii) The government allocated Rs 400 crore for the establishment of medical device parks and Rs 500 crore to support the growth of the MedTech industry through research and innovation.
